Employment and Civil Rights Attorney -  TX

Job Type: Full-time, Remote

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Pay: $80,000 -$90,000 base salary plus uncapped earning potential. Our attorney compensation model is designed so attorneys may earn up to 60% of collected revenue based on performance and collections.

Kaplan Law Firm, PLLC is a nationally recognized employment, whistleblower, and civil rights firm that represents people. Our mission is to end workplace injustice and champion civil rights. We are hiring a full-time Employment and Civil Rights attorney.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of Employment Law experience.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and written work product.
  • Ability to  manage time independently and work remotely.
  • Proficient with using law firm software: Microsoft 365, Clio, Slack, Claude, and OneNote.
  • A record of excellence handling Plaintiff’s side employment, whistleblower, and civil rights work, or comparable experience.
  • A record of empathy for workers’ challenges and fighting for justice in and out of court.

 

Job Expectations:

•            Manage your own growing employment and civil rights docket,

•            Manage the discovery process,

•            Participate in intakes, scheduling, data collection for all cases,

•            Research and write winning briefs that advance the cause of civil rights,

•            Actively litigate cases in federal and state court,

•            Suggest and implement improvements for all processes,

•            Bill an average minimum of 7 ½ hours per week (30 hours per month) on hourly matters,

•            Open and be responsible for contingent matters that reach a combined minimum of $400,000.00 in estimated matter value per year with an annual target of $900,000.00 in estimated matter value per year.
